Hundreds of people attended the opening party last Saturday to inaugurate the remodelling of the Pedemonte Gardens in the presence of Ana Alba Aguilera, the mayoress of Sant Andreu de la Barca.
Agrotècnica del Segrià has been responsible for the remodelling of this unique space with the aim of recovering the romantic gardens, improving the accessibility of the area, increasing the variety of vegetation to ensure biodiversity, and renewing the street furniture.
The proposal has been completed with new transversal paths, a reminder of the water and the existing cultural heritage, the maintenance of the stage and the stands for the public, and the installation of new street lighting.
The Mayoress mentioned at the inauguration ceremony that “these Pedemonte Gardens have history, they have feeling, and with this transformation we wanted to maintain this spirit, but with a thorough renovation of the space”. The total cost of the refurbishment was 286,065 €.
